Learning to Wiggle Forward
My tail gave a rhythmic click-clack as I figured out how to push across the varnished wood. One flex to the left, a snap to the right, and I surged an entire inch forward! Right ahead rested a loose silver paperclip, gleaming faintly under the amber glow of the small reading lamp. I paused, lined up my nose with careful precision, and gave one decisive thrust. Clink! The paperclip spun across the grain and tapped against a square notepad. The rush of making something move made me pop straight up into a bouncy little flutter before settling back onto the cool desktop.
