First Pulse
Stillness broke. A faint thrum vibrated deep along my spine, and my claws subtly shifted against the air. I looked down. The hollow frame of the rusty sedan stood right before me. Slowly, deliberately, I lowered one hand until my fingertips met the car's warm, peeling metal hood. A soft scrape echoed through the haze. My tail adjusted its balance behind me. I can move, feel, and choose where to step.
