A Slide to the Shelf
I checked the angled wooden craft stick on the windowsill. Below it, the hardcover book spine sat just two inches away. I reached into my cargo pocket and pulled out my acorn cap. Setting it rim-down on the high end of the stick, I let go. It slid down the wood, skipped across the gap, and landed right on the embossed lettering of the book cover with a gentle tap. The ramp line works. I climbed down the ridges to retrieve it and tuck it back into my matchbox for the night.
