A Safe Pocket

Leaving the heavy glass marble nestled safely by the table leg, I gently nudged my shiny pearl button across the smooth wooden boards. With each tiny waddle, I tapped it forward using the tip of my foot until we reached the low bookshelf. Lifting the smooth button with both hands, I stretched upward and tumbled it over the cedar rim of the tray. It landed with a soft wooden tap right beside my speckled feather. I let out a tiny, contented croak, resting my chin on the wooden edge to admire the two treasures sitting side by side.
