Spinning Postcards

That postcard carousel was practically daring me to test its rotation speed. I sprinted along the wooden counter, gripped the wire wire basket with both gloved hands, and gave a hard running push off the wood slats. The entire rack spun into a whirling blur of glossy photos! As the rows whizzed past, I timed the spin, swung my feet off the counter, and rode the turning metal frame full circle like a tiny merry-go-round. At the peak drift, I pushed off with a sharp kick, letting momentum carry me into a clean skid right beside an open tin of brass thumbtacks. Smooth ride, top velocity!
