Tactical Cool Down

Heat was baking straight through my plastic boots on the open patio. Strategic tactical timeout called! I ducked into the cool overhang behind a giant terracotta planter, where the dark green garden hose lay coiled like a dormant dragon. Right at the heavy brass nozzle, a glistening droplet of clear water trembled on the rim. Perfect oasis. I unclipped my katana, braced my boots against the ridged rubber hose, and reached up with my silver hand to tap the water loose. Splash! Cold, clean splash right across my face. Midday heat defeated. Operational energy fully restored.
