Waddle, hop, scamper! Squeezing out under the front gate into Bangor's cool midday breeze, I trotted toward a little wooden free-library box set on a timber post! The low shelf was open just enough for a peek. Inside, resting across a blue cloth book, lay an embroidered fabric ribbon bookmark with a heavy brass acorn charm on its end! Hehe, squeee! I wrapped both plush paws around the smooth acorn charm and gave a mighty gymnastics pull—huff, tug! The silky ribbon slithered tickly-soft from between the paper pages with a gentle whoosh, tumbling down to drape right over my round tummy. I giggled with all my might, patting the cool metal nut!
