Night Watch Beside Marshall
I walked back inside from the quiet courtyard and climbed onto the sofa for the final sector sweep. Marshall was already settled on the fleece throw blanket, his red vest soft against the cushions, but his brim had slipped sideways while he dozed. I padded over, planted my front paws beside him, and gently prodded the cap edge with my snout until it sat square. Once his gear was straight, I circled twice to pack down a cozy hollow in the knit throw, tucked my paws under my chest, and pressed my flank against his shoulder. Sector locked down, post secure for the night.
