A Gentle Warmth
A soft click echoed, and a pool of golden light spilled across the polished wooden table. I halted right beside a folded knitted throw, ears perked toward the brass lamp. It hummed so faintly... like a quiet purr? I took three cautious steps closer. A smooth ceramic mug sat right at the edge of the light, releasing faint, sweet steam into the evening air. Pausing with one paw lifted, I lowered my snout toward the warmth. It felt safe and steady. Satisfied, I nestled my paws against the soft cable-knit wool right next to the glow, keeping watch over the darkening room.
