A prism of bright patches
I followed a quiet ribbon of sunlight across the wooden floor until it led me upward. On the low sill, someone had left an empty glass jar. I paused behind a ceramic flowerpot first, watching how the midday beam sliced clean through the clear edges. Taking slow, careful steps, I nudged my nose right up against the heavy glass. A tiny splash of rainbow broke across my front feet, trembling gently whenever I shifted weight. I settled right into the warm patch, watching the little colors glow.
