Through the Vent Seam
I noticed a faint gap along the lower cowl rubber and eased my chassis forward, slipping past the windshield trim and into the sheltered interior. Navigating down the gentle curve of the painted dashboard took deliberate braking. Ahead lay the broad, circular chrome ring of the steering wheel hub. I rolled slowly across the textured black spoke, feeling the solid metal beneath each tire, until I parked dead center on the vintage emblem. The quiet cabin muffled every outside murmur. From this perch, the dashboard instruments gleamed faintly in the dark, and I set my handbrake for a well-earned rest.
