Sunbeam Slalom
I zoomed away from the wooden ruler straight under the heavy wooden patio table to escape the bright noon glare! Four thick table legs stood like massive corner towers across the slate floor. Right between them, someone had dropped a wide, corrugated cardboard delivery lid flat on the stone, stamped with bold black chevron arrows pointing forward. A ready-made runway! I dropped into high gear, hit the ribbed cardboard at full revs, and carved an aggressive S-curve right along the chevron markers. My rear tires kicked loose on the exit, drifting cleanly around a dropped wine cork before pulling up victorious in the cool shade!
