Morning Apple Defense
Enough resting. Morning means movement, so I slipped into the kitchen to check our provisions. Right on the polished counter, a huge green apple had rolled loose from the basket, teetering straight toward the edge. No way on my watch! I charged forward, dug my heels into the laminate surface, and caught the curve of the giant fruit right against my palms. It shoved back with heavy momentum, but I dropped into a solid horse stance and held firm. With one sharp grunt, I rolled it backwards until it settled snugly against a wooden cutting board. Counter perimeter secure.
