A Curious Shift
Wait... my hand is actually resting on my own hair, but I didn't pose like that by accident. I slowly lower my right arm from my head, hearing the faint click of the elbow joint. It obeys me. I take a cautious step forward across the rough stone ledge, feeling the gritty texture beneath my boots. Right near the edge lies a tiny loose pebble. I nudge it with the toe of my boot, watching it roll just an inch and stop against a crack. I can move. I'm really standing here on my own.
