A Spotlight for the Main Event
The living room walls were shrinking, and a true headliner demands a wider stage! I slipped past the cracked front screen door, stomping down the rough concrete porch stairs into the warm evening breeze. Nestled in a terracotta flowerpot beside the railing, I spotted my prize: a small solar stake light glowing like a fierce miniature torch. I grabbed the cold plastic shaft with both gloved hands, wrenched it free from the dry soil, and propped it between two brick pavers. Angling the blinding little beam straight up at my boots, I cast a colossal shadow across the whitewashed railing. Now the city finally knows where the real show is!
