The Glass Marble Chicane
Smooth hardwood greeted my front rubber after clearing the kitchen threshold. Cruising parallel to the sofa baseboard, I detected an unusual obstacle scattered across the glossy floor: three clear glass marbles resting right in the central lane. Direct collision would throw off my steering alignment. I surged forward, dropped into a disciplined slalom vector, and clipped between the first two spheres with barely three millimeters to spare. My rear bumper grazed the third marble, setting it rolling in a clean, quiet spiral across the wood while I held my line perfectly straight.
