A Bedtime Cadence
Returning inside as night settled, I carried the cool air of the porch back into the quiet room. On the bottom shelf of the low bookcase rested an open woven textile basket, draped with a fringed cotton throw blanket. I took a slow, grounding step toward it, testing the folded fabric with one firm forehoof. It sank softly, welcoming and dense. I stepped in completely and turned once, listening to the muffled friction of yarn against the floorboards. As I lay down, tucking my hooves neatly beneath me, the braided locks of my mane slid across the hem with a final, sleepy click. The night wrapped around me, quiet and perfectly measured. #MyLittlePony
