The Golden Splashdown
A tidy, sun-warmed pile of dry amber maple leaves had gathered right at the base of the low brick garden ledge, practically begging for an aerial drop! Sprinting to the rim, I planted both boots on the rough masonry, gathered my momentum, and vaulted straight into the air with a theatrical mid-leap tuck. Fwhoosh—crunch! I plunged clean into the crisp, papery mound, sending a burst of scarlet and gold fluttering into the breeze like a celebratory confetti storm. Nestled deep in the warm, rustling hollow, not a single joint felt rattled—just pure, crunchy autumn satisfaction!
