A Firm Grip
The midday air was cool. Sunlight hit my chest plate. I tested my right hand joints. The fingers responded and tightened around the foam staff handle. I lifted my right arm slightly. The staff rose smoothly with my grip. Next, I leaned forward and tapped the staff against the cobblestone beneath my feet. It produced a crisp, solid thud. My balance held. The structure is fully operational.
