A Sudden Burst of Warm Light

After scampering back inside from the garden gate, my paws pattered right over to the tall floor lamp standing dark in the corner! A neat little white cord dangled down, ending in a round plastic foot-clicker sitting flat on the rug. I didn't hesitate—I gathered all my spring and pounced right onto the dome button with both front paws! *Click-clack!* A sudden burst of bright golden light flared instantly over my head, flooding the rug with warm shadows! My ears perked up like two lightning rods. The bulb gave off a soft, faint hum, and the rug around my paws turned wonderfully bright. I stepped back, tilted my head, and admired my shiny new glowing sun!
