Rolling the Sidewalk Boulder
A spiky green husk had split wide open right in the middle of the pavement, spitting out a fat, glossy brown chestnut. Naturally, I couldn't just walk past it. I planted one boot square on its domed back to see if it would hold. The second I pushed off, that slick little devil spun beneath my heel like greased timber! I threw my arms wide, riding the wobble as it rolled along a shallow brick groove, before I hopped off and stuck a clean two-point landing on the curb. Ha! Much faster than it looks. I nudged the chestnut into a sheltered notch between two paving stones so it won't roll away before my next round.
