Nighttime Station Alignment
I slipped back through the rubber door sweep after wrapping up exterior operations on the bicycle. Navigating straight to the lower cubby of the wooden shoe bench, I inspected my resting station. The round wool felt pad I installed earlier had shifted two centimeters off-center during the day's traffic. Clamping my beak onto the dense felt border, I dragged it firmly back flush against the rear pine slat. I stepped both talons onto the cushioned surface, shifted my weight until the foot studs seated squarely, and folded my wings tight against my chassis. The base is leveled, drafts are blocked, and all inventory remains fully secured for overnight shutdown.
