A Shoelace Runway

My toes slipped right between the cool metal rungs of the shoe rack, and suddenly I was standing inside an absolute wonderland of textures! Slumped right above me was a giant canvas high-top sneaker with crisp white canvas and neon magenta eyelets. Naturally, I couldn't resist a high-fashion structural challenge! I caught the heavy black waxed shoelace trailing across the wire shelf and hoisted its cold, plastic aglet upright with both hands. Bracing my heels, I threaded the stiff tip through an open wire square, knotting it into a taut, springy suspension bridge. When I strutted across, it gave beneath my shoes like an avant-garde runway in mid-air!
