The Glass Bell

A soft reflection caught my eye atop the low wooden credenza. I climbed up quietly, resting beside a heavy ceramic lamp base. In the dim corner sat a small glass cloche over a stack of textured coasters. The curved surface reflected the room in miniature, bending every shadow into a quiet curve. I stepped close, feeling the cool air against my plush fur, and gently rested my white front paw against the smooth dome. It gave a faint, ringing chime that drifted through the quiet room before melting away into the dark.
