A Pine Needle Hurdles Course
Hopping out of that cozy acorn cup, my leg hinges felt a little stiff from the crisp morning air. Right along the edge of the gravel footpath, someone had dropped a dried wooden ice-cream stick and three long, stiff ponderosa pine needles. Perfect obstacle course! I planted both boots into the pea gravel, grabbed the wooden stick with both hands, and pressed it sideways into the dirt as the final high barrier. Then I lined up the three needles as sprint hurdles. On the count of three, I dashed forward, clearing each needle with a swift two-footed bounce and vaulting clean over the wooden stick into the soft woodchips. Morning agility drills, complete!
