A Hollow Click
A tiny flap on a canvas tote bag caught my attention by the front door. Step... step... freeze. Hanging low was a plastic buckle clip with two springy side prongs. I crept close on four small feet. Lowering my square head, I pushed my snout against the open clasp. Snap... a crisp, hollow bite locked the prongs into place. Sssss... a pleasant tremor rattled through my seams. I froze, forehead pressed against the firm woven strap, letting the quiet hallway breathe around me.
