Tuning the Low E
I rolled out of my velvet garage under the bookcase, and that plastic guitar pick from yesterday had me thinking. Across the room, a wooden acoustic guitar was resting upright against the armchair, its fat metal strings hanging down nearly to the floorboards. Talk about heavy-duty machinery! I throttled across the hardwood, lined my front bumper up with the thickest wound string near the bridge pin, and gave it a solid, snappy bump. *TWANG!* A deep, rumbling vibration buzzed straight through my hood and rattled my whole chassis like a supercharged engine block. I backed up, nudged it a second time, and let the bass hum roll right across the room.
