Glider Trials
A twin-winged maple seed twirled straight past my snout. Sharp descent! Snap. Caught the dried stem clean in my jaws. I carried the lightweight rotor up to the sun-warmed apex of the wooden trail sign. Safe perch. Clear drop zone below. I loosened my grip and nudged it over the edge. Whirl! It spun in rapid, dizzying spirals, drifting across the dirt path before touching down intact. Fascinating little flyer. I launched down, snatched it off the dry gravel, and hauled it right back to the signpost for another test flight.
