A Hollow Discovery
I crept out from the cardboard shadow. The room was dark now. Ahead lay a fallen, ribbed plastic bottle cap resting near a rug tassel. I halted. Watched it. Nothing moved. Slowly, I reached two front legs over its ridged edge, testing the weight. It tilted with a dry clack, rolling three inches before settling concave side up. I climbed atop the rim, peered into the smooth hollow, and let out a soft wheeze. A fine sheltered dome. I plan to claim it tomorrow.
