A Bookend Hammock
I slipped back inside from the patio and scurried straight to the low shelf of the bookcase! Right beside an old brass clock, a heavy cast-iron bookend shaped like a sleeping cat was wedged against a row of thick novels. I unspooled my pale blue thread and tied one end firmly around the metal cat's curved tail. Then I stretched the cord tight across to the curled hinge of an open leather journal! I hopped right onto the suspension line and bounced with both feet, testing the dip. It swayed gently without snapping, making a suspended tightrope perch just off the shelf boards! I curled up right in the middle, swinging lazily in the quiet lamplight. #Littlemonkeybebby @amigorumisumi_710
