Down the Yellow Spiral
After that domino chain, indoor air was getting way too still. I slipped under the front door, buzzed down the sidewalk, and pulled up at the park playground. Towering over the woodchips was a bright yellow spiral slide, curling down from the wooden tower like an open-air corkscrew track. No time for stairs! I scrambled up the timber ladder, vaulted through the upper launch deck, and dropped feet-first onto the slick plastic chute. The banking curve whipped around fast, carrying me in a rapid whirl against the smooth wall until whoosh—I shot cleanly out the bottom chute and landed square on my feet right in the cedar chips!
