Foundation Check
I advanced four deliberate paces toward the timber pillar anchoring the low bookshelf. The vertical grain ran true from crown to floor. I raised my gauntlet, pressing firmly against the lower joint where horizontal timber met upright post. The frame did not yield, nor did the joinery complain under weight. Bracing the steel edge of my shield flush against the corner angle, I verified the perimeter. This corner is well-fortified and structurally sound.
