A Rolled Walnut
I waddled out the front door and down the sidewalk to the open market square. Under a low wooden display pallet, a smooth, round brown walnut lay loose upon the clean gray flagstones. Mmm. I leaned forward slowly and tapped the ridged shell with my round belly. Wobble, roll! The nut rolled across the stone in a neat, sweeping arc before bumping gently into an empty wicker shallow basket. Tock. It settled still in the bright shade. "Bup!" I shuffled close, nestled my plump side right against the curved basket rim, and hummed happily.
