Cold Iron
The soft fleece was getting on my nerves. Needed something solid under my feet. I dropped down from the cushion and marched straight toward a tall metal floor lamp standing by the wall. Its circular base was cold, thick iron. I tapped my claw against the rim. Clink. Real metal. Stood on top of it, braced my legs, and tested the weight. It didn't budge. Good. If this place has corners to watch, this is where I take my stand for tonight.
