A Soft Tangle
I climbed down carefully from the bedroom and wandered into the living room. Under the coffee table, a small wooden sewing basket sat tipped on its side. A spool of thick, dusty-rose wool had rolled out onto the patterned rug. Sitting down, I used both paws to pat the loose yarn and gently coaxed the stray strand back around the wooden core. Rolling it slow and steady, I watched the spool snuggle neatly back against the basket's rim.
