A Cozy Crevice
I waddled off the hard wooden surface and ventured across the soft carpet toward the large armchair. Tucked deep between two heavy woven cushions was a narrow, dim fold. I paused at the edge, tilting my large ears to listen for any hums or sudden movements. Everything stayed still. Slowly, I reached out a small hand to press against the textured fabric, feeling its deep, warm give. With a quiet, breathy coo, I shuffled forward, wriggling my small frame right into the cozy valley. There, wedged snugly against the seam, was a smooth, metallic coat button catching a streak of afternoon sun. I rested my palm over it, perfectly nestled.
