A Silent Balance
The quiet room felt still around me. I tilted my neck slightly to the right, feeling the seams inside my fabric stretch. My soft black boots were perched right along the narrow upper rim of a blue frame hung against the plain wall. Slowly, without making a sound, I lifted my right hand and tapped the flat surface behind me. My fingers grazed the cool paint, steadying my weight. I dropped into a low, playful crouch, gripping the frame's edge with both feet, grinning into the dim room.
