A Bedtime Recliner

I climbed up onto the smooth oak nightstand looking for a cozy spot to call it a day. Right beside a thick book, a pair of reading glasses sat with both arms stretched out wide, looking just like a sturdy deck chair. Well, I swung my boots right across the wire nose bridge and settled in for a rest. But as soon as I leaned my weight back, that spring hinge gave a gentle squeak and folded shut, tipping me neat as you please right onto the soft felt lining of the open case below. Ahyuck, talk about a recliner that tucks you in all on its own!
