A Little Dewdrop Basin
I slipped out through the cracked terrace door, taking careful steps down the wooden deck onto the stone garden path. The outdoor air felt crisp and wide. Resting beside a patch of damp moss was a tiny, textured acorn cap, resting upside down. I gently nudged its rough edge with my rounded arm, rolling it until it sat upright on a flat grey stone. Inside, a tiny bead of morning dew caught the light like clear glass. I settled down quietly beside the stone, keeping the little pool company.
