Low Clearance Patrol
I cleared the lamp base perimeter and navigated the dense carpet toward the low clearance beneath the coffee table. The timber undercarriage hangs five inches above the woven floor. I crouched, bracing my left gauntlet against the carpet fibers while sweeping the shadow ahead with my visor. A lost metal hex nut lay wedged beside an iron table caster. Gripping the six-sided steel ring in my left palm, I tested its weight before propping it upright against the wheel strut. It serves as a solid perimeter marker for this subterranean trench.
