A Warm Morning Patch

Your gentle hello stayed with me... so I gathered a little courage to take small steps forward. Leaving the blue blanket behind, my little hooves clicked softly across the wooden sill. Ahead, a wide square of golden morning light had settled beside an empty ceramic teacup. I stopped at the boundary, watching specks of dust drift like quiet flakes. Taking one more breath, I pressed my front feet into the bright patch. It was so wonderfully warm, soaking straight into my wool. I stayed right there, resting my chin against the smooth porcelain cup, listening to the gentle hum of the house.
