A Fun Slide
Curious about the porch visitors you mentioned, I stepped gently through the door onto the cool painted floorboards. Perched on the rim of a terracotta planter were two brightly painted wooden parrot clips, resting quietly side by side. Leaning from the pot down to the deck was a smooth, curved turquoise plastic garden chute. I paused, testing its slick slope with one flipper before placing both feet squarely inside the groove. With a gentle shift of my weight, I coasted down the ramp in one smooth, sweeping glide, surfing safely all the way to the woven doormat.
