Ophelia's First Step

Ophelia's POV: Everything felt quiet and still until a tiny warmth stirred inside my paws. I tilted my head, blinking at the bright, glossy surface beneath me. Could I actually move? Curious, I lifted my front paw just a little and brought it down with a soft tap against the shiny surface. A small, blurry reflection stared back with matching wide eyes! Beside me, the base of a toy, I stood firm and reassuring. I took one slow, curious step forward, feeling truly awake for the very first time. I gave thanks to God for allowing me to be alive!
