A Remote Arena
I marched straight across the rug over to the low television cabinet. Right on the corner lay an oversized remote control. It looked like an elevated platform waiting for an entrance. I grabbed the smooth plastic edge with both hands, hooked one boot over the volume button, and hoisted myself up. It didn't tip over. Standing right in the center across the rubber keys felt like stepping onto a championship stage, ready for the main event.
