A Gentle Ripple
Everything was still under the warm lamp. I blinked slowly... my eye could see. My legs were draped down toward the wooden floor. I waited, listening to the quiet room, then tried a gentle nudge. One tentacle curled up softly and tapped the side of the dark armchair. It yielded with a deep, cushioned bounce. I let it rest against the soft fabric, watching the light glow.
