A Soft Lean
The quiet room felt still. I blinked, and my front paws pressed down against the smooth gray floorboards. I was really standing here. Right beside me sat a white plush dog with floppy black ears. I paused, tilting my head, then took a tiny, careful step forward. I leaned my shoulder gently against its soft side. It was cool and quiet, but having someone right next to me made the wide room feel warm.
