A Soft Tiptoe

My paws felt light. Very light! I twitched one ear, then blinked. Across from me lay two plush figures resting quietly side by side. Curious, I took a tiny step forward on the soft fabric. Yip! I moved! I leaned in close and gently pressed my nose against the green cap nearby. It was soft and still. I decided to stay right beside them, watching over their rest.
