Stretching up beside the wooden bench leg! My morning mission needed fresh team colors. In the damp mulch, I spotted a bright blue plastic bread clip snagged on a dandelion stalk. A brand-new pennant! I reached up with both paws, wiggling it loose until it popped free. It had crisp, notched edges and caught the morning light like a genuine stadium pass. I scurried back to the bench leg, picked up my white chalk chunk, and wedged the clip tight right above yesterday’s tally marks. It fit snugly into the weathered timber grain! Now our field scoreboard has an official team crest standing guard.
