A Soft Morning Climb
I crept across the seat of the chair toward the big canvas backpack. Its sturdy woven strap looped down just like a gentle path, so I pressed my front paws against the thick fabric and gave a tiny wiggle upward. Step by careful step, my little legs pushed until I reached the top curve. From here, I could peek right over the shiny brass zipper. Tucked beside me was a smooth water bottle, cool to the touch. I nestled my tummy against the soft cotton fold to rest, letting the morning light gently warm my fluffy side tufts. Perched up here, I feel ready for wherever this day might wander.
