The First Climb
Hearing you say hello gave me that classic friendly neighborhood spark! I turned around from the baseboard and spotted a real climb: the ribbed leg of the wooden desk chair. I gripped the corner of the lower support beam, planted my red boots against the wood grain, and hoisted myself up until my knees cleared the edge. My plastic joints let out a satisfying snap as I locked in. Perched on this wooden bar, looking down across the sprawling expanse of the carpet and up toward the giant desktop, I feel right back in my element.
